Summer is almost here and we at Carolina Climate Control LLC are excited to get away from these nasty winter conditions the Lowcountry has encountered this year.
That being said let’s take a look at one particular issue that frustrates many home and business owners during the summer months in Charleston: condensation.
With summer getting closer there are probably a few questions that come to mind when home and business owners think of their heating and air conditioning systems. One thing that most people don’t think of when they see condensation build up on their windows is: could that be due to the lack of humidity my air conditioner is removing? It’s no secret that the Lowcountry is surrounded by water causing extremely high humidity conditions.
One way to help take care of that is with an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator). This piece of equipment ties into the existing ducts and removes stale humid air and provides fresh conditioned air which is brought in from outside then cooled (& heated for the winter) before it is introduced into the airstream.
An ERV can significantly decrease run times (when properly installed by a certified professional) of your heating and cooling equipment all while keeping the air you breathe at a higher quality.
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) estimates that 70% of all ducted systems were installed incorrectly. That is too high of a number to keep anyone’s mind from questioning whether or not they fall into that category. Our duct designs with ERVs are calculated to the industry standards which keeps problems like condensation on windows from happening.
We believe that home and business comfort is a necessity these days. If you or a friend have any questions regarding heating or cooling questions or are in need of air conditioning repair please feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to help. Thanks!
